Start with a list
Write down everything you want to bring: how many boxes, how many suitcases and which large items. The list helps you get an accurate quote and makes sure nothing is forgotten.
What’s worth bringing and what isn’t
Before you pack, think about whether something is worth the transport. Sometimes it’s cheaper to sell or donate old furniture and buy new at home. UK appliances work on the same voltage as in Romania but have a different plug – you’ll need an adapter or a new plug.
How to pack for a move
- Use boxes of the same size, easy to stack.
- Don’t fill big boxes with heavy things (books, crockery): use small boxes for those.
- Number the boxes and write what’s inside each one: “kitchen”, “winter clothes”.
- Keep important documents and valuables in your hand luggage, not in the boxes.
Large items
Bikes, TVs, washing machines or small furniture are carried as large parcels. Take apart whatever you can and protect the corners. For very large items we’ll quote separately.
Customs rules when moving
There may be special rules or reliefs for personal belongings brought when moving your residence to Romania. The official information is on the Romanian Customs Authority website. Keep documents showing that you are moving (for example proof that your UK job or tenancy has ended).
Ask for a quote
Call or send a WhatsApp message with your list. We’ll tell you what it costs and how we’ll organise the collection. There are more details on our Relocation UK – Romania page; anything over 300 kg gets a discount.
