Moving from Germany to Romania: we collect from your address

How the move works

1. Send us a WhatsApp message or call us. Tell us the town in Germany, the place in Romania and what you need to move. Photos help us judge the volume.
2. You get a quote. We tell you the price and, if it suits you, we agree the collection day.
3. We collect from your address. We need the full address with postcode (5 digits in Germany), the floor and whether there’s a lift.
4. We deliver to your new address in Romania. We call you before we arrive.

What we can move

• boxes of clothes, kitchenware, books and personal belongings;
• small or flat-packed furniture: chairs, tables, dismantled wardrobes, shelves;
• household appliances and TVs;
• bikes, scooters, pushchairs;
• suitcases and luggage.

If you have something very large or very heavy, tell us beforehand and we’ll confirm whether we can take it.

Customs: not needed

Germany and Romania are both in the European Union. Your personal belongings move between them with no customs and no customs declarations. Our own transport rules still apply, so check the prohibited items list.

Before you leave Germany

• Your tenancy. As a rule, a tenant can end the lease with three months’ notice. Check your contract and book the handover of the flat (Wohnungsübergabe).
• Deregistration (Abmeldung). When you leave Germany for good, you deregister at the residents’ registration office (Bürgeramt). Ask your town hall about the deadline.
• Broadcasting fee. Once deregistered, cancel the Rundfunkbeitrag as well.
• Contracts. Cancel electricity, internet, phone and subscriptions in good time; many have a notice period.
• Furniture you leave behind. Many towns collect old furniture through their bulky waste service (Sperrmüll), usually by appointment.

How to prepare your belongings

• Put small things in strong cardboard boxes and seal them well.
• Take furniture apart where you can and tape the screws in a bag to the piece.
• Drain the washing machine and tape appliance doors shut.
• Number the boxes and write your name and Romanian phone number on them.
