Why size matters
A large item takes up space in the van even if it’s light. That’s why large parcels are priced on chargeable weight: the higher of the actual weight and the volumetric weight.
Volumetric weight (kg) = length × width × height (cm) ÷ 5,000
For example, a 60 × 40 × 40 cm box is 96,000 ÷ 5,000 = 19.2 kg volumetric. If it actually weighs 8 kg, the price is based on the volumetric weight, not on the 8 kg.
In the calculator, open “How was this calculated?” on the result to see exactly what was taken into account.
How to prepare a large item
- Take apart whatever can be taken apart and tape the screws in a bag to the item.
- Protect corners and glass with cardboard or bubble wrap.
- For appliances, drain the water (washing machines) and tape the doors shut.
- Write the recipient’s name and phone number on the item.
When we quote separately
For very heavy, very long or oddly shaped items, the calculator will ask you to contact us. We’ll tell you by phone whether we can take it and what it costs.
Items not allowed in parcels
Don’t put these in your parcel – we can’t carry them:
- Spirits
- Tobacco products
- Weapons
- Drugs
- Gold or silver items
- Cash
- Anything else prohibited by law
Transport conditions
- The sender is directly responsible for how shipments are packed and labelled; we accept no liability if they are damaged as a result.
- If a parcel is lost or damaged, the sender will be compensated with twice the transport price.
- If the value of the parcel was declared, the injured party will be compensated according to the declared value.
- If the recipient can’t be contacted, the parcel will be returned to the sender, at the sender’s cost.
MANDATORY: By handing the parcel to the courier, the sender agrees to these conditions, whether or not they have signed the transport document.
