Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions customers ask us most: prices, collection, what can be sent and the rules after Brexit.

Items not allowed in parcels

Don’t put these in your parcel – we can’t carry them:

  • Spirits
  • Tobacco products
  • Weapons
  • Drugs
  • Gold or silver items
  • Cash
  • Anything else prohibited by law

Transport conditions

  • The sender is directly responsible for how shipments are packed and labelled; we accept no liability if they are damaged as a result.
  • If a parcel is lost or damaged, the sender will be compensated with twice the transport price.
  • If the value of the parcel was declared, the injured party will be compensated according to the declared value.
  • If the recipient can’t be contacted, the parcel will be returned to the sender, at the sender’s cost.

MANDATORY: By handing the parcel to the courier, the sender agrees to these conditions, whether or not they have signed the transport document.

Customs and rules

Can I send home-made food to the UK?

It depends on the product: meat, cured meats, dairy and most animal products from the European Union are not allowed into the UK, even in small amounts. Other packaged foods may be allowed. The official rules are on GOV.UK; if you’re not sure, ask us before you pack.

Is there customs duty on parcels between Romania and the UK?

It can apply, depending on contents and value. Since Brexit the UK is no longer in the European Union, so customs duty and VAT may apply to some goods. The exact thresholds are set by the authorities and can change – see GOV.UK and the Romanian Customs Authority. We’ll tell you on the phone what applies to your parcel.

Can I send cigarettes or alcohol?

No. Spirits and tobacco products are not allowed in our parcels. For other alcoholic drinks, ask us before you pack. The official import rules are on GOV.UK.

General

How do I book?

The easiest way is to call or send us a WhatsApp message. You can also book online: work out the price in the calculator, press “Book transport” and send the booking on WhatsApp. We’ll then call to confirm.

Which days do you collect parcels and when do you leave?

In Romania we collect parcels on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and we leave for the UK and Europe on Wednesday. In the UK and Europe we collect on Friday and Saturday, and we leave for Romania on Saturday. We confirm the exact day and time we’ll come to you by phone.

Do you speak English?

Yes. You can call or write to us in English or Romanian, and the website is available in both languages.

Parcels

How do I send a parcel from Romania to the UK?

Call us, send a WhatsApp message or book through the calculator. We confirm the collection day by phone, collect the parcel from your address and deliver it to the recipient’s address in the UK.

Do you collect the parcel from my home?

Yes, we collect from your address and deliver to the recipient’s address. You don’t need to go to a depot or drop-off point. We call beforehand so you know when we’re coming.

Do you deliver to villages, not just towns?

Yes, we collect from and deliver to villages too. For villages we need the village name, the commune and, if possible, a landmark (school, church, shop). If your place doesn’t appear in the website search, just ask: the list isn’t complete.

Why do you need the UK postcode?

The postcode shows us exactly where the address is and helps us plan the route. In the UK the same street name can exist in several towns, and without the postcode delivery may be delayed. You’ll find it on any letter received at that address.

What am I not allowed to send?

Spirits, tobacco products, weapons, drugs, gold or silver items, cash and anything else prohibited by law are not allowed. Special rules apply to animal-based food and medicines. The full list is on the Prohibited items page.

How do I pack a parcel so it arrives in one piece?

Use a strong cardboard box, fill the gaps so nothing moves and tape all the edges well. Wrap fragile items separately. There are more tips in our packing guide.

Passenger transport

What documents do I need to travel to the UK?

Romanian citizens usually need a valid passport; those with EU Settlement Scheme status may, in some cases, use their national ID card. Short visits also require an electronic travel authorisation (ETA). Rules change, so check beforehand on GOV.UK.

Prices and payment

How is the parcel price worked out?

The price is based on the parcel’s chargeable weight and the direction. For large but light parcels, volumetric weight – worked out from the size – is used. In the calculator you can open “How was this calculated?” to see each step.

What is volumetric weight?

Volumetric weight turns a parcel’s volume into kilograms. The formula is: volumetric weight (kg) = length × width × height (cm) ÷ 5,000. For example, a 60 × 40 × 40 cm box is 96,000 ÷ 5,000 = 19.2 kg volumetric. If the result is higher than the actual weight, it may be used for the price, because a large parcel takes up a lot of space in the van.

Is the calculator price final?

The calculator price is an estimate based on what you entered. We confirm it by phone before collection. If the actual weight or size is different, the price is recalculated and you’re told first.

Why does the calculator ask me to contact you instead of showing a price?

Some services and situations are priced on request only: passengers, relocations (house moves), very large items, or routes without a published rate yet. In these cases, call or send a WhatsApp message and we’ll give you a quote.

Do you give a discount on large parcels?

Yes. Any parcel over 300 kg gets a discount. Tell us by phone or on WhatsApp what you’re sending and roughly how much it weighs, and we’ll confirm the price.

Refrigerated transport

Are parcels carried refrigerated?

Yes. All our parcels travel refrigerated, in both directions, without you having to ask for it and at the same price as any parcel. Note that many animal products are not allowed into the UK from the European Union, however they are transported – see GOV.UK.

Relocations

Do you do house moves from the UK to Romania?

Yes. We move household belongings between the UK and Romania, in both directions: boxes, furniture, appliances, bikes, luggage. Send us the list of items and the addresses on WhatsApp and we’ll give you a quote.

How is the price for a house move worked out?

Relocations are priced on request, once we know what the items are, roughly how much they weigh and where they go from and to. Anything over 300 kg gets a discount.
